Gynecomastia is an aesthetic problem known as the growth of breast tissue in men. Another definition of gynecomastia is pseudojinekomastia, which is usually characterized by an increase in fat tissue in the male breast. Gynecomastia is seen in a man’s life, especially in three periods. These; 1) Immediately after birth, the mother’s estrogen cause augmentation in the male breast, 2) It is the process of puberty, hormonal irregularities occurring during this period cause the growth of the breasts, 3) The decrease of the male hormone in later years leads to the growth of the breasts. Apart from these, the most important reason is the formation of gynecomastia with the accumulation of fatty tissue in the breasts due to weight gain.
Vaser liposuction is my first choice for all types of gynecomastia, especially in fat-rich gynecomastia. The fatty tissue is removed from the breast by vaser liposuction. If there is no excess skin in the breast skin before surgery, it is expected that the skin will adapt to its place in time. If there is excess skin in the breast before the operation or if there is a hard breast tissue, the breast tissue and excess skin are removed from the surgically after Vaser liposuction.
Gynecomastia is an operation that takes 1.5 hours and is performed under general anesthesia. As can be done alone, it can be combined with other operations used in male body contouring methods. The patient should be hospitalized for one night and corset should be used for 6 weeks after the operation. Our patient may return to normal life within 1 week at the latest.
