Hi-Def Liposuction (4D Body Contouring)

Gaining weight or having an overweight body is one of the biggest problems of modern people. Male and female body gain weight from different regions due to genetic and hormonal reasons. Women usually gain weight from the lower abdomen, stomach and legs, while men gain weight from the upper body and abdomen.

In, Vaser liposuction method ultrasound waves are used only to damage to the fat tissue. As the fatty tissue becomes liquid, the veins, nerves and connective tissues around the fat tissue are not damaged, thus, less bruising and a faster recovery are seen after surgery. The fats melted by Vaser method are removed from the body by vibrating cannulas in PAL method. By this means, irregularities and fluctuations in the skin previously seen after the liposuction are prevented.

In body contouring, also known as Hi-Def or 4D, it is possible to have a more athletic body structure close to the normal weight but with regional fat deposition.

It is possible to obtain a six-pack image by contouring the fat in the abdomen by using Hi-Def (4D) body contouring method. In order to provide balanced body look in the patient whose abdomen is made more muscled and thinner, a muscular body look can be provide by fat injections to the chest, arms and shoulders.

Hi-Def in Women (4D) body contouring process can be given an athletic appearance to the abdomen, thigh and back area can be thinned and a suitable body shape can be obtained. Fats taken from other parts of the body are injected into the butt to obtain a thinner waist and wider and rounded hips.

In my patients, I perform Hi-Def (4D) body contouring surgeries by using Vaser and PAL methods together. In this way, I would like to minimize the irregularities that may occur after the surgery and achieve a faster recovery time and a better body contouring.

How does VASER work?

The VASER ultrasound is a small probe that transmits sound energy to break up and emulsify fatty tissue on contact while preserving the other important surrounding tissues. The VASER ultrasound affects the body in three steps. First, a saline solution or tumescent fluid mixed with an anesthetic will be injected into the targeted area. Then, ultrasound probes will be inserted into the skin through a small incision to break up the fatty tissue. Later on, the fatty tissue will gently start to break apart, and a cannula will be used to vacuum out the fatty tissue and most of the fluid through the same port.

What is the difference between VASER lipo and standard liposuction?

In standard liposuction, the fatty tissue breaks apart mechanically with the support of cannula. As this process is highly mechanical, it might not have a homogenous appearance. In vaser liposuction, fatty tissues are broken apart with an ultrasonic device named Vaser. Then, liquid fat is removed by cannulas. Thus, the appearance will be more homogenous and flat. Besides, Vaser liposuction provides heat under the skin. This helps tighten the skin instead of sagging skin.

Maximum amount of fat removed during liposuction is equal to 10% of the patient’s body weight. However, the removed fat is measured in liters instead of kilograms. For example, a maximum 7 liters of fat can be removed from a patient, who weighs 70kilograms.

Does VASER liposuction only remove fat cells?

VASER liposuction does not only remove fat cells but also liquid used before liposuction and blood. Before liposuction, epinephrine in solution is injected to help reduce blood loss. Some amount of this solution is absorbed by the body while remaining is removed together with fat.

This is one of the most frequently asked questions. Gaining weight is related to body types and hormones. You always gain weight on the same areas of your body. So, before liposuction, where you put on weight will be the same area that will enlarge when you gain weight in the post-liposuction period.  The fatty cells have unlimited potential for growth. If you start gaining weight and continue gaining more, the number of fatty cells in the liposuction area will start increasing.
